Making Butter Tarts is one of our family’s tradition around the holidays for Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas. As well as for potlucks or special desserts when I am feeling inspired.

There’s an endless debate in our household between what’s better, butter tarts with pecans or raisins (my vote). But luckily this recipe uses both, so you don’t have to decide (but can leave out either if that’s your preference).

Skip the corn syrup and use maple syrup instead for true fall (and Canadian) flavours.
