PRINTABLE ROAD TRIP ACTIVITY PACK

This road trip activity pack is based on my youngest child’s favourite games, that she has liked to play on our family road trips over the years.

And they all require only a few supplies. Just something to write & color with. Although you could also use stickers to change things up for a few of the games.

How to use the activity pack

  • Use a plastic sheet protector: Print off the games, and place them in plastic sleeves in a small binder. Use low odour dry erase markers or washable markers for games you can use again and again.
  • Use a clip board: Clip your sheets to the clip board, which makes a nice flat surface.
  • Spiral Binding: Take it to an office supply store and have them made into a spiral binding.
  • Use a 3 hole binder: Punch holes and put the pages in a 3 hole binder. Add a soft pencil case (the ones with 3 holes) to the binder and keep their pens, crayons, pencil crayons & supplies in it.
  • Laminate the pages: Laminate the pages for another option for reusable games. Use washable felt pens.

Road Trip Bingo

5 different road trip bingo cards and a Bingo calling card.

We’ve included 5 Different Bingo Sheets to keep things interesting.

This game can be played a couple of different ways.

  1. Use the Calling Card: Use the calling cards for a more traditional Bingo game. Cut out the pieces, place in a small bag or container, and pull them out one at a time at random. Each player marks of the items called and first person to make a line wins.
  1. Scavenger Hunt: Use the bingo cards as a road trip scavenger hunt. Mark off the things you find on the card The first person to mark off a line, or X wins.

Road Trip Scavenger Hunts and Seek & Find

Six road trip scavenger hunt printables fanned out.

Scavenger hunts are easy games that are perfect for younger and older kids. Make it a fun competition by offering small prizes for whoever finds the most.

To make it easier for younger kids work together as a team, each player calling out what they see and find.

I think my favourite is the food / restaurant scavenger hunt.

Printable Road Trip Puzzles

Crosswords, mazes and word searches oh my!

Not only do they keep the kids busy for awhile, they’re also a great learning tool. Shhhhh don’t tell them!

I love crosswords and wordsearches too, and always make sure I have them for travel days tucked in my backpack.

Road Trip Games Printables

3 Road trip games fanned out; tic tac toe, Dots & Boxes, and Alphabet Game.

Tic Tac Toe is simple enough that kids of all ages can play.

Change it up a bit by using stickers, or candy instead of writing X’s and O’s with a pen.

Road Trip Drawing Activities

Four road trip drawing activity pages; draw your own road trip map, My road trip photos, make your own license plates and what's in the truck.

Grab some crayons, felts or pencil crayons and get the kids drawing. They’ll love making up their own license plates or drawing their favourite “photo” memories.

Family Road Trip Conversation Starters & Journal

Four Road trip printables for kids; two fill in the blanks stories, a journal page and would you rather conversation starters.

Start off your day with some laughs with our fill in the blank funny stories (Mad Libs). In our family, this inevitably leads to a competition to see which family member can throw out the most ridiculous words to make the silliest story.

Plus a road trip journal is a great way to take the memories back home with you. Print out one sheet per day of the trip, and have the kids fill them out at the end of each day. That way you can look back on your trip and see what you did, and what the kids liked (or didn’t) about your vacation.

Printable Road Trip Coloring Pages

Three road trip themed coloring pages.

Finally, last but not least are printable road trip coloring pages. I’ve found coloring a calming activity to do with my kids when they get a bit wrangy.
